SPORTS FESTIVAL 2014-15 REPORT

Sports festival 2014-15 started on the 8th November and continued well until the 11th January 2015. It was held across Magarpatta city across various locations like school grounds, Abs tennis court and Sylvania. Events like cycling & Marathon was held on the internal roads of Magarpatta City.

We had Cricket, chess, cycling, badminton, basketball, football, Tennis, Marathon, Skating, and game for children on the occasion of Children’s day. Most of the events were held under the watchful eyes of Professional umpires / referees. Our sports committee members who were in charge of the events coordinated very efficiently and conducted their respective events to their best.

Main highlight – The Mini Marathon held will henceforth be named as “Shri Parameshwaran Balan Memorial Marathon” in honor of Late Balan Uncle who till his death at the age of 82, took great interest in sports and various other activities of Magarpatta City.

Next Step – 1) Split the festival into 2 parts, Summer fest & Winter fest. 2) Start looking for sponsors very early.3) Work towards better  & effective advertising. 4) Introducing new games & sports.

The sports festival concluded on 11th January 2015 with the finals of the Cricket being held. The prize distribution ceremony was held on the same day in the evening. Architect Mr. Prakash Deshmukh and Ms. Ruhi Ranjan, MD at Accenture graced the occasion and gave away the medals. Their speeches were very inspiring and well appreciated.

The evening ended on a positive note as all the sports committee members resolved to make the next year events even more fun and successful.
